Fees
1st degree felony- $14,000 capped hourly pretrial fee*

Capped hourly: the $14,000 fee is a capped hourly, meaning the fee cannot be more than $14,000 (for pretrial work, except as provided below), but can be less. The firm tracks billing at $350 an hour for attorney time. As an example, if a client pays $14,000 and resolution of the case only requires 10 hours of Edward Stone's time ($350 x 10 = $3,500), then the client is refunded $10,500 (14,000-3,500). Statistically, about 98% of cases are resolved during pretrial proceedings. (Source: New York Times 2012- Wright and Paul Hofer analysis of Bureau of Justice Statistics).
